Witches & Magick Day 23

Using a maze to divine. You will need a maze, simple is better, and a deck of Tarot cards.

Print out your maze. Level of difficulty is not an issue, though simple mazes are better because you will be drawing a card for each turn you make.

Sit comfortably with the maze, cards, and a pencil. Ground and center. This is a great spell for when you cannot seem to solve a problem.

You may wish to light incense or hold a clear crystal while asking for clarity.

I like to draw one card before starting the maze, then draw a card as I make each turn. This ensures I don't skip a card. You can work the maze, then count the number of turns to know how many cards to draw. Read the cards like a story to get an overall view of the entire situation. If you feel really overwhelmed, work the maze first and ask that a solution clearly present itself. The cards will tell you what steps you need to take.

If you really mess up, it may be a sign that you are wrong. Carefully consider your actions to determine if you should make changes. Drawing reversed cards is an indication of blocks or obstacles. Court cards are people who are involved and major arcana cards indicate life altering events. Accidentally drawing more than one card at a turn could mean things are either worse than you thought or more than one event is occurring or more people will become involved.

If the cards are very unfavorable or if you feel trapped or if no solution seems to present itself, then write what you wish to happen on the maze and burn the paper. If things are really bad, add sage to the fire.

For a very long ordeal, save the maze so that you can do the reading again. Once a moon phase is usually enough time to foresee changes.

You can use a labyrinth, though they only have one path leading to the center. A labyrinth works best for working towards a clear goal, or for a journey of personal growth.
