Tuesday

My mother came over here again yesterday because she couldn't change the TV channel. I told her no, she has to do it. She talked over me, and completely ignored what I said because she refuses to consider that I would tell her no. Instead of going to her house, I went to the library.

This book was at the front door, and is about using plants as medicine.
Second book in a series I'm reading.
And when I came home, my Latin book had arrived. I did a lot of reading yesterday. I also did some gardening.

I had my daughter plant morning glories. I was going to use peas, but I decided to save those for the 3 sisters plot.
My garden. I can fit under the arch. My daughter easily fits. The males in the family can't walk under it, which is fine. There tend to blunder over plants. I'd rather not have them in the garden anyway.
My magick flower pot and my little ashwagandha plant, that I planted on the eclipse. I hope this helps my type 1 diabetes, though right now I have no idea which part of the plant I am supposed to use. I think I need the root, but I'm not sure.
Some of the lettuce came back after the chickens ate it. I still do not trust the peckerheads.
The orange trees on the ground got repotted. Then I ran out of potting soil and tires. I think the tires will provide good frost protection in the winter. I will, of course, need to cover the top of the plants since the leaves are easily damaged by frost. And I could bring them inside during the winter. It's just the cat is an asshole. He attacks my plants out of spite. The chickens were hungry.
I got my hook installed. The hummingbird feeders will be part of tomorrow's Beltaine ritual, when I bless the garden.
This is where the 3 sisters will be. Obviously, I still don't have a running tiller.
I've decided to add fish to my pond. I wanted to do this years ago. It's warm enough now. I have concerns about winter and freezing weather. I know next to nothing about fish. I'm just going to get fish, then deal with whatever problems when they arise. Part of why I don't have fish now is because everyone tells me this won't work. Which is bullshit. Folks build little ponds all the time. Lowe's sells everything I need except fish. They wouldn't carry pond stuff in their store if it wasn't popular.

After being in the library and the garden, I was very happy. I completely forgot about my problematic mother. Until she showed up while we were eating dinner, loudly complaining about how difficult her life is. My husband went over to deal with the TV. I told him not to. He connected the big antenna. And showed her, again, how to change channels. Which clearly she knows how to do, or she wouldn't end up on a channel that isn't coming in. I have no doubt she will be back today to tell me 'the TV isn't working.' I may just keep the door locked and pretend I am not home.

Blessed be, my dears. Stay safe and well and have fun sex tomorrow.
