Beginning the Story

The store awning was cheerful. Yellow, blues, and whites. The sky captured in cloth. The Witch thought it would make a lovely rug. A rug made from the sky could easily become a flying carpet. She searched all over town for cloth like the awning but found none. So she summoned a terrible storm that ripped the awning from the store. The next morning the Witch gathered the awning from the limbs of her apple tree and began tearing it into long strips.

Creative arts are much easier to work on when they are interesting. This is the rag rug I'm making for the living room. I want to know what the Witch will use next. Maybe she'll need sand so the rug will be able to land.

This will probably be my last post for a while. My children are out of school for the entire week of Thanksgiving, I have much cooking to do, I am trying for a job (work from home. I thought that would be good for me as so much around the house demands my attention but now I am starting to think I just tripled my workload. Maybe working outside the home isn't such a bad idea...), and to top it all off, I am having strange dreams. Pretty sure something bizarre is in the works. So anyway, maybe I'll be back around the first of December. Or maybe not since that week starts a series of doctor appointments for the whole family. Except for one child. Somehow he's managed to stay annoying healthy.

I love this word picture, and rag rugs make me remember my grandma making me learn them. Now I smell lilac perfume and mothballs. Hi Gran. Hope the job turns out as you wish, and that everyone's health comes back quickly. Happy T Day, and blessings.
